Las Olas

My main office is on Las Olas - simply the best location!  Las Olas Boulevard is the very heart and soul of Fort Lauderdale, and the Isles are considered the Venice of Florda. Stretching from the beach at A1A  and rising over the fabulous Intracoastal Waterway with magnificent views of million dollar homes and spectacular yachts, then continuing toward downtown, immaculately lined with palm trees and beautiful people, Las Olas becomes a shopping, dining and nightlife extravaganza.

Since the early 1900’s, when it was just a dirt road that led to the beach, Las Olas has always been the heart and soul of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Las Olas (Spanish for “the waves”) not only provides a primary connection to the beach, but over the years has become a dining and shopping hub for locals and visitors.

In the 1980s Las Olas went through a major renovation program to enhance property values. The land was worth much more than that of the standing homes. It was decided that anyone who wished to buy property on one of the isles would have to tear down the existing home and build a home of equal or greater value than the land. There were a few celebrities who already lived on Las Olas, but new homes and waterfronts made it more appealing to move to the area. Professional tour companies provide tours that take people down the waterways to show off the celebrities homes and yachts.

Today, the Boulevard is a “must visit destination” with over three dozen bistros, clubs and restaurants, most with indoor and outdoor dining, making Las Olas a food lovers paradise. More than 120 specialty retail shops, world class art galleries, museums, beauty salons, spas, jewelry stores, unique boutiques, international banking, pharmacy, postal services and much more.

Included with Las Olas are what is known as the Isles, as previously mentioned.  They are northern and southern veins containing the most highly desirable property in all of Fort Lauderdale, and property values will always be increasing.  The north isle neighborhoods are branched off into Venice Isles, Nurmi Isles, and Seven Isles.  The south isle neighborhoods are branched off into Las Olas Isles, Riviera Isles, and Idlewynd.
